Collaborating with industry initiatives
Instead of establishing a new standard-setting organisation, or duplicating existing standards, the Coloured Gemstones Working Group builds on existing schemes and initiatives. We believe this approach will have the greatest success in generating positive change and help ensure the harmonisation of standards in the gemstone and jewellery industry.
The SAQ is intended to help you learn about expectations of existing schemes, and the use of the tools and resources available on the website can help you to learn and prepare for meeting requirements of those in the areas of environment, social and governance.
We continually monitor and review initiatives around standards in the mining and mineral supply chains. This allows us to stay informed about new trends and, where possible, incorporate new thinking into our learning platform.
